Tata Motors is currently the king of the Indian electric car market. Tata Nexon EV is the highest-selling EV in the country, Tata motors are set to extend its electric cars portfolio by soon adding an EV version of the popular Harrier. Currently, Tata offers 4 EVs in India – Tigor EV, Nexon EV, Xpres T, and Tiago EV. The Harrier EV is presently shown as a concept at Auto Expo 2023 but its production is set to start soon. The Harrier EV will have Tata’s Omega Arc architecture and it will use the company’s Gen 2 EV architecture to offer an all-wheel drive system.
The exterior of the Harrier EV looks like an updated version of the available Harrier. Its front design seems to be inspired by the company’s new Curvv concept SUV. The DRLs are now connected with a straight light bar and the headlamps are now placed vertically, the grill has been closed off with a body-colored panel and the front bumper of the Harrier EV is completely redesigned with air-dam housed in the center. Overall, the front look of the Harrier EV looks more modern and sleeker than the current model.
The sides of the Harrier EV carry the same look but there is a huge difference as it gets a new set of alloy wheels. The rear of the EV gets newly designed taillights that are connected by a long light bar and a redesigned rear bumper.
The interior of the Harrier EV looks redesigned by a brief glimpse of the inside, the infotainment screen is also replaced by a new large horizontal free-standing touchscreen. The EV concept also has a large panoramic sunroof. The powertrain details are not yet revealed but the company has confirmed that the production unit will have a dual motor set-up and an all-wheel drive system. Tata Motors also said that the Harrier EV will carry advanced features like cloud-connected telematics, over-the-air update support, vehicle-to-environment connectivity, and V2L charging capabilities. These new design elements and features of the Harrier EV concept could water down to the awaited facelift version of the current Harrier.
