Tata Curvv

Tata has introduced a new SUV concept called Tata Curvv. The Curvv was first revealed in April 2022 as an EV concept but this time the Curvv debuted as an internal combustion SUV at the Auto Expo 2023. Tata Curvv is a coupe SUV that will rival the SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq in India. The Curvv will be first launched as an EV and then the petrol and diesel versions will follow the launch. Seeing the concept, it can be said that Curvv will make Tata strong in the compact SUV segment in India by attracting new customers because of its modern looks and features. Tata Motors has said that the production of this SUV will start in 2024.

The Curvv is the name of the concept, its production version name will be revealed at its launch event in 2024. The design of the Curvv is like a coupe SUV and the new internal combustion Curvv concept design has been slightly upgraded compared to the EV concept version showcased in April 2022. The new Curvv concept design follows Tata’s new ‘Digital’ design language and has a new bumper that has a prominent center grill to cool the engine, which was missing in the EV concept of the SUV, along with black and the body-colored patterned area between the air-dam and the bonnet.

Curvv Design

The Curvv has a sloping roofline integrated into the boot and a very raked rear windshield. The front of the SUV has a split headlamps design with DRLs on the end of the bonnet and the main headlamps are placed on the sides of the bumper. The side profile of Curvv is very attractive because of the coupe design and new set of alloy wheels which gives the SUV a muscular look. The back profile has sharp tail lights connected by a light bar. The rear bumper has sporty side cuts in it and in the middle of them sits the number plate.

Curvv Interior

The interior of the Curvv is futuristic with good-quality upholstery and a very clean and minimal cabin design. The dashboard of the SUV has three different layers and an LED light strip that runs through the cabin. On the lower part of the center console, you will find the climate controls of the SUV. The rotary-style gear selector of the EV concept variant has been replaced with a more traditional gear selector for this combustion engine concept. The main highlight of the interior is two new big free-standing digital screens, one for the fully-digital instrument cluster behind the two-spoke steering wheel and the other one for Tata’s new touchscreen infotainment system. The features list of the SUV is yet to be revealed but it is confirmed that the Curvv will have all the modern features that its rivals carry.

Tata CurvvCurvv Engine

Tata Motors has announced that the Curvv concept carries two engine options – the company’s new 1.2-liter, three-cylinder, direct injection turbo-petrol engine, and a larger 1.5-liter four-cylinder unit. Both these engines are unveiled at Auto Expo 2023. As per the company, this engine produces 123bhp of power and 225 Nm of torque.
