Tata Avinya is a concept EV built on the new Gen 3 platform of the company. The Avidya concept was first introduced back in April 2022 and now it has made its public debut at Auto Expo 2023. The Avinya concept carries Tata Motors’ new design language – Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEML). It is Tata’s new design language for its EV Line-up. The first production-spec version of the Avinya is expected to hit Indian roads in 2025. The new Pure EV Gen 3 platform of Tata on which the Avinya production unit will be built, will also be used for a range of multiple EV body styles, mainly for SUVs and Crossovers.
The exterior design of the Avinya concept is futuristic and similar in size to the Tata Harrier but its ground is not as high as that of an SUV. The overall looks of the Avinya are a mix of SUV and MPV body language. The cabin is very spacious, due to the long wheelbase and flat floor design. The Tata Avinya concept has a length of 4300 mm, but it is anticipated that the production-spec vehicles, which would be based on the same platform and design language, will have a somewhat different length. The lack of a combustion engine also adds more space to the cabin due to fewer mechanics under the flooring, this is only possible in the EVs.
The production unit of Avinya is expected to come with a heavy combination of comfort and technology, autonomous features, and an elaborated connectivity suit. The door opening mechanism of the Avinya concept is called Butterfly-doors which is mainly used by sports cars. The butterfly doors are not expected to stay till production which will take place in 2025, but the production version of Avinya will surely carry the concept’s stylish panoramic roof. According to the little information that we currently have. The Pure EV Gen 3 technology-based vehicle will have a driving range of over 500 km and a charge time of roughly 30 minutes when using a DC fast charger. The production version of the Avinya will have a driving range of over 500 kilometers.
