Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturing company in India, is taking part in the Auto Expo 2023 and has introduced some new vehicles including the new Fronx sub-compact SUV which bookings are already open in India. First-time viewers, seeing it from the front might confuse Fronx for a new Grand Vitara because of the similar front design. The front of the Fronx carries a split headlamp design with new three-dot LED DRLs placed at the end of the bonnet with the main headlamps embedded lower on the bumper. The grill of Fronx is large and has the same design we get in Grand Vitara, on the grill you get a chrome line in the center to which the Suzuki logo is attached. On the side profiles of the Fronx you will notice more following lines than the new boxy Brezza, it also has a slightly decreasing roofline but it maintains its SUV-like looks with the help of squared-out wheel arches and fair level of cladding.
The Maruti Fronx rides on the new design diamond-cut alloy wheels and has a good amount of ground clearance. On the back of the Fronx, you get a roof-mounted spoiler below which is the ranked rear windshield. The LED taillights are slim and are connected by a long lightbar. The rear bumper is big and muscular which gives it a rugged and modern look.
The Fronx has many modern features like a wireless phone charger, a heads-up display, connected car tech, a 360-degree camera, up to 6 airbags, ESC, Hill start assist, a free-standing 9.0-inch touchscreen sitting on top of the center console, and more. The Fronx has a large boot space with a capacity of 308 liters. The measurements of Fronx are – 3,995mm in length, 1,765mm in width, 1,550mm in height, and 2,520mm in wheelbase.
The company offers Fronx in 5 different shades – White, Brown, Red, Grey, and Silver. The White and Gray finish units have the option of a contrast finished roof.
With the Fronx you get two engine options- a 1.0-liter Boosterjet and the tried and tested 1.2-litre K series petrol engine. The Boosterjet unit comes paired with the Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid technology, it produces 99 bhp of power and 148 Nm of torque. You get two transmission options with this engine – a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. The 1.2-liter petrol engine produces 89 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque and comes with 2 transmission options, a 5-speed manual, and an AMT. Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha are the five variations of the Fronx that will be offered. The 1.0-liter BoosterJet will be offered in the Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha trims while the 1.2-liter gasoline is only available in the Sigma Delta and Delta+ trims.
