The French Carmaker Citroen entered the Indian car market with Citroen C3 this year. Citroen C3 is a hatchback loaded with many features, the sales rate of C3 in India is average and the company is hoping to increase it by launching a CNG version of the Car.

The price range of C3 is between Rs. 5.88 lakh to Rs. 8.15 lakh (Ex-showroom). Adding a CNG kit to the car could increase the price from 70 to 90 thousand.

C3 is available in 2 engine options. Buyers can choose from a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The first engine produces 82 bhp of power and 115 Nm of torque, the second engine produces 110 bhp of power and 190 Nm of torque.

Talking about the transmission options currently, the company only offers a 6-speed manual gearbox in the car but soon an option for Automatic transmission will be available.

The CNG version of Citroen C3 was under testing in India and now that the testing is complete the company is planning to launch C3 CNG at the start of 2023. The CNG kit will be combined with the 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. The mileage of the CNG version of C3 is currently unknown but we can say that it will be good enough to compete with its rivals like Tata Tiago CNG.

The looks of the Citroen C3 are totally different from any other car in the Indian market but not everyone is a fan of them. In this price range, Tata also offers a CNG car “Tiago CNG” and it’s doing very well in the country. Tiago CNG carries a 1.2-liter petrol engine under its hood that gives a mileage of 26.49 km/kg. The price of this car is Rs. 6.35 lakh (Ex-showroom). Citroen C3 CNG will compete with Tata Tiago CNG and the upcoming CNG version of Tata Punch.

As the electric car market in India is increasing every day, many companies are bringing their EV into the country. After the launch of the CNG version of C3, the company will launch an electric version of the car. The Citroen C3 electric will carry a 50kWh battery pack which will be capable of generating 136 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque with the electric motor.
