Mahindra Scorpio N, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Swift, and Ignis were recently tested by Global NCAP (A vehicle safety testing organization) and the crash test reports of these best-selling cars in India are out. This crash test was done under the campaign #SaferCarsForIndia. In this campaign crash tests of these four high-demand cars in India were done by Global NCAP.
According to the Global NCAP reports the Mahindra Scorpio-N has scored a full 5 stars for adult protection and 3 stars for child protection in the crash tests. The Scorpio N’s body shell integrity has been rated stable and it received 29.25 out of 34 points and 28:93 out of 49 points. This makes the Scorpio N one of the safest cars in India according to the Global NCAP.
Maruti Suzuki’s cars – Swift, S-Presso, and Ignis were also included in the new edition of the Global NCAP crash test. In the crash test, Swift received 1 star for child safety and the S-Presso and Ignis received 0 stars for child safety. According to the Global NCAP, the bodyshells of these Maruti cars are unstable and are not capable of withstanding the forward load.
This crash test was done according to the new Global NCAP safety standards. In this test frontal and side-impact safety was checked with other safety checks like electronic stability control, pedestrian safety, and side-impact pole safety. Now Mahindra Scorpio N also joins the Maruti Suzuki’s S-Presso, Swift, Ignis, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Skoda Kushaq in the list of cars that have been tested under the updated protocol of Global NCAP.
