According to the new report, Tata could soon launch a Tata Nano Electric. A digitally created picture of the Nano EV has surfaced which has been prepared by the automotive design artist Pratyush Raut. The picture gave out many design details of the car. The design of the upcoming Nano EV does not match the current model of Nano. In Nano EV there is no front grill as there is no requirement of it in an EV. The DRLs of the Nano EV are shaped like eyelids which gives it a modern look. The headlamps are compact to minimize the front look. The bumper of the Nano EV gives a smiley effect and the mirror panels in this car are quite large.
The side panels of the Nano EV look attractive and the front door handles are flushed in to give it a clean and premium look. The rear door handles are not on the door but are mounted on the C-pillar to maintain the clean look of the sides of the Nano EV. The interior space of the Nano EV is more than the current Nano because of the longer wheelbase.
After the launch Nano EV will be the first micro-EV and this could give the first come advantage to Tata Motors. The micro-EV segment is very popular in China and in upcoming years India could also adopt this segment. Currently, the most popular car segment in India is compact SUV and midsize SUV segment.
The Tata Nano EV will be the cheapest electric car of Tata Motors and the range of the Nano EV can be around 200km on a full charge. Currently, the most popular and highest-selling Electric car in India is Tata Nexon EV. Tata also offers electric versions of the Tigor and Tiago and in 2023 the company will launch an electric version of the Tata Punch.
