CNG cars demand is hiking in India and with that Tata Motors is trying to increase the number of factory-fitted CNG cars at their showrooms. Recently Tata launched its new CNG Tiago NRG in the Indian market and now Tata motors could introduce a new CNG version of the Tata Punch. Tata also offers Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG in India and the Tata Punch CNG if launched will be the 4 CNG car from the company. Tata Punch is a quite popular car in its segment and if launched with CNG kit it will surely upscale the sales chart of the company.
Tata motors charge almost Rs.90,000 more for the CNG variants of their cars. The Tata Tiago and Tigor CNG variant costs approx. Rs.90,000 more than the petrol version. This could be the same for the Tata Punch CNG version. The current price of the base model of the Tata Punch is Rs 6.75 lakh (Ex-showroom) and the model costs Rs 8.37 lakh. After adding the Rs 90,000 the Tata Punch CNG model price could start at Rs 7.65 lakh and can go up to Rs 9.27 lakh.
Tata Punch CNG could get the same 1.2-liter petrol engine that powers the Tata Tiago and Tigor CNG models. This engine in Tiago and Tigor produces 73PS of power and 95Nm of torque when fueled with CNG. The mileage this engine provides with CNG is 26.49km/kg.
The CNG version of Tata Punch could be introduced by Tata motors in early 2023. There is also a possibility that the company will show a glimpse of Punch EV and Punch CNG at the 2023 Auto Expo.
