MG Motors India has launched an extra compact 4-seater EV in India, “MG Comet EV”. The Comet is a 2-Door EV that can easily carry up to 4 people, its design is very modern and the cabin has ample features for the price range. In India, the Comet EV comes in the entry-level EV segment and it is set to give tough competition to the entry-level hatchback EVs such as Tata Tiago EV and  Citroen eC3. In this article, we will compare all these 3 EVs’ prices, to figure out which option is best for a tight budget.

The price range of all three EVs –

MG Comet EV – Rs. 7.98 lakh (Starting)

Tata Tiago EV – Rs. 8.69 lakh to Rs 11.99 lakh (Ex-showroom)

Citroen eC3 – Rs. 11.50 lakh to Rs 12.76 lakh (Ex-showroom)

MG Comet EV –

According to MG Motors Indian the Comet EV will be available in 3 variants. Currently, the company has only revealed the starting price of the EV (Rs. 7.98 lakh) which undercuts both the rivals: Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3. The prices of the other two variants of the Comet EV will be revealed in May. According to some reports on the internet, MG could price the mid-spec variant at Rs. 9.5 lakh and the top variant might cost around Rs.11 lakh. If the reports are true then the Comet EV will come out as the most budget-friendly EV in India.

MG Comet EV is also the smallest of the 3,

measuring only 3 meters in length which makes it easy to park and drive in traffic. MG Comet EV battery pack (17.3kWh) is the smallest here with a range of only 230km on a single full charge. The MG Comet EV carries many modern features like two 10.25-inch displays for the touchscreen infotainment and the digital cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a rear parking camera with dynamic guidelines.

Tata Tiago EV –

 The Tiago EV is in the middle here and it comes with two battery pack options: a 19.2kWh and a 24kWh. The first battery pack gives a range of 250km on a single full charge while the 24kwh battery pack gives a claimed range of 315km.  The Tiago EV is the best option in the trio, with premium features like cruise control, auto climate control, and rain-sensing wipers.

The Citroen eC3 EV –

The Citroen eC3 EV is the costliest option of the three. But to even that out it has the largest battery pack here of 29.2kWh and gives the highest range of 320km.
