2023 Verna design
The new-gen Hyundai Verna imagined design looks nothing like the current version. The main changes in the front are the new parametric grill that looks a lot sportier and has been seen in the new-gen Tucson. Many international models of Hyundai utilize this same grill, the headlamps of the new-ger Verna have also been updated, they are now compact and shaped as trapezoids, and the DRLs have been shifted on the top in a straight long line of light.
The bumper has also been updated to look sportier, bumper sides have vertical cut-outs for the triangular-shaped fog lamps. The bonnet shape is the same as the current Verna but it looks wider and more modern than before. The side profile has been completely changed, now instead of the curvy door panels you get bold sharp lines on the side. The new-gen Verna gets new sets of diamond-cut alloy wheels which we also noticed in the spy shots.
The back profile of the 2023 Verna has a sloping roofline and holds new design split LED tail-lamps, and the back bumper of the car gets a piano black finish. The feature pack of the new Verna will include the ADAS bundle and Mercedes Dual-screen setup.
New-gen Verna Engine options
The 2023 Verna powertrain options are not revealed yet, the current Verna has 3 engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel, and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit. The diesel engine produces 115PS of power and 250 Nm of torque, it comes with two transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. The 1.5-litre petrol engine makes 115PS of power and 143.8Nm of torque, its gearbox options include a 6-speed manual and an IVT. The turbo petrol engine produces 120PS of power and 172 Nm of torque and is mated to a 7-speed DCT.
According to the latest report, the new-gen Verna will carry a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine instead of the 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit. Its power and torque delivery are expected to be 160PS and 260Nm. For the transmission options, it could come mated with a 7-speed DCT or a 6-speed manual transmission.
To compete with its competitors the new Verna could get Hybrid technology. The Hybrid option of Verna will have more torque because of the support of the electric motor. Hybrid tech also helps in increasing the mileage of the car. Verna’s competitor, Honda City Hybrid has a claimed fuel efficiency of 26.5kmlp, which is better than the entry-level Alto hatchback that gives an ARAI-certified mileage of 22.05kmpl.
