Maruti Suzuki India has increased the price of all of its vehicles in Jan 2023. The price hike was applied because of 2 main reasons. The first reason is the rise of input costs and the second reason being the addition of new features considering the consumer’s needs. In this article, we will talk about the 2023 New Baleno price and its new features. Maruti has increased the price of Baleno by up to Rs. 12,000. Now the Ex-showroom price of the Baleno base model Sigma MT starts at Rs. 6.56 lakh (Ex-showroom) and the on-road price comes to around Rs. 7.80 lakh. For this extra premium, Maruti has added ESP with hill hold across all variants of Baleno.
The 2023 Baleno has the same design and features as the previous year’s version but it now gets a new safety feature – ESP with hill hold at standard across all variants. ESP can contain multiple subsystems depending on the model. The primary goal of ESP is to reduce the chance of vehicle skidding. It also keeps the car from rolling over. Drivers can effortlessly climb steep inclines with a hill hold function. The hill hold function automatically applies the brake for a few seconds after the driver releases the brake pedal, because of this, climbing steep inclines becomes easy as this supports the car to go forward.
Other safety features available in the 2023 Baleno base model – Driver and front passenger airbags, reverse parking sensors, a high-speed alert system, seat belt reminder (front row), brake assist, seatbelt pretensioner, and ISOFIX anchorages. The base-spec Baleno version lacks safety features such as a 360° camera, side and curtain airbags, a rear-view camera, and a Suzuki Connect connectivity package.
Baleno base model Sigma MT is equipped with halogen projector headlamps, a blacked-out grille, steel wheels, body-colored bumpers, Nexa trademark LED tail lamps, and a back door spoiler. Auto climate control, rear defogger, all power windows, central locking, keyless entry, tilt power steering, semi-digital instrument panel, and front seat adjustable headrest are some of the interior highlights. The Maruti Baleno base variant doesn’t get any music or multimedia system but if you would go for the top-tier model then you will get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SmartPlay Pro+.
The 2023 Baleno gets a 1.2 liter K series dual jet, dual VVT engine under the hood with idle start-stop tech. This engine produces 89.7 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. Maruti offers the Baleno with options of a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic transmission. The Baleno also comes with a factory fitted CNG kit but it is only offered on the higher Delta and Zeta variants. The CNG variants of Baleno produce 77.5 PS of power and 98.5 Nm of torque and it only comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
