MG will launch a facelift version of its popular SUV Hector in January 2023 along with it the facelift version of Hector Plus is also expected to be launched next year.
Recently, a testing unit of the Hector Plus facelift was spied on the road which revealed many details about the SUV before the official launch.
The MG Hector plus facelift will have almost the same features and design as the Hector facelift 2023. The plus variant of the Hector will have 2 sitting configurations, one will be a 6-seater variant with 2 caption seats in the 2 rows and the other one will be a 7-seater with a bench in 2 and 3 rows.
The testing unit of Hector Plus Facelift which was spied on the road was heavily camouflaged but with our experienced eyes, we were able to gather many details about the SUV. For starters, the front of the Hector Plus has top-mounted LED DRLS and bottom-mounted headlamps with integrated fog lamp housing.
The new grill of the Hector Plus Facelift gets a diamond-mesh design. You will find liberal use of metallic bits on the SUV which will give it a premium look and feel.
The rear of the Hector Plus facelift seems unchanged but some updates in the taillight of the car can be found.
Apart from this the body of the Hector Plus facelift is the same as before it has the same bonnet design, thick body cladding, chrome door handles, chrome garnish on windows, body-colored ORVMs with integrated turn signals, and roof rails.
Talking about the wheels of the SUV, it will run on the same design of Alloy wheels that are offered in the current model.
The main changes are done on the inside of the SUV, the 2023 facelift version of Hector Plus will have an improved cabin ambiance and a new range of tech features along with a refreshed cockpit, mood lighting, and 14-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system.
Hector facelift 2023 and Hector Plus Facelift 2023 both will get ADAS features like the MG Astor.
It will have blind spot detection, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, rear-drive assist, intelligent headlamps control, and a speed assist system.
The 2023 Hector Plus facelift will have the same engine options as the current model. Petrol versions are driven by 1.5-liter engines that produce 143 PS and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. Options for transmission include CVT, DCT, and 6MT.
A 48v mild hybrid system for the same engine is also available; it enhances driving dynamics, increases mileage, and lowers CO2 emissions. The 6-speed manual transmission is mated with the mild hybrid powertrain.
The 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine versions produce 170 PS and 350 Nm. A 6-speed manual transmission is connected to it. In the future, MG might provide a powerful hybrid option for the Hector and Hector Plus built for the Indian market. In Indonesia, this just recently went on sale.
