Maruti Suzuki Sales: Maruti Suzuki is the highest-selling car manufacturer in India. Some of the vehicles of Maruti have shown a decline in the number of month-to-month sales but yearly sales of Maruti only show a hiking graph.
Maruti Suzuki is beating every other carmaker in India in the number of sales. Maruti Suzuki sales are so high that the 2nd highest selling carmaker in India has to multiply its sales to 3 to be able to go near the Maruti Suzuki sales. In the Mini car segment, Maruti sold 18,251 units of Alto and S-Presso last month, up from 17,473 cars sold a year ago.
Maruti YTD sales stood at 1,64,243 cars, this is 22,601 cars more than the previous year(2021-2022).
Maruti’s most popular cars – Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR, sales stood at 72,844 units, and the compact segment sales grew by 15,825 units.
In 2022-2023 YTD sales stood at 5,79,957 units, this is 176,002 units more than in 2021-2022. Last month’s sales of the Mini + compact segment were 91,095 units with 7,44,200 units sold YTD.
Mid-size segment car of Maruti – Ciaz, sold 1,554 units, this is 465 units more than Nov 2021. Ciaz is not a high-selling car in Maruti’s portfolio but it sure gives its contribution with YTD sales of 10,364 units.
Maruti’s second highest-selling segment has Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross, XL6, and the recently launched Grand Vitara in it. This segment has a sale of 32,563 vehicles, which is 7,989 vehicles more than the last year.
YTD, this segment sold 227,164 vehicles last month, which is 40,430 vehicles more than the last year.
The only van Maruti sold in the PV segment – Eeco has suffered a loss of 2388 units as it sold 7,183 units in November 2022.
YTD figures of Eeco show growth with 85,554 units sold, this is 15,313 more than the previous year. Maruti’s total domestic PV sales stood at 1,32,395 units.
As opposed to 1.09,726 units clocked in November 2022, the company registered 20.66% growth YoY and gained 22,669 units in volume YoY.
However, Maruti Suzuki only had 1,40,337 units in its name in October 2022, registering a 5.66% YoY reduction with a volume loss of 7,942 units.
The only commercial vehicle offered by Maruti is the Super Carry LCV. The same designs that Eeco uses are used by this vehicle. YoY data shows that Super Carry sold 2,660 units as compared to 3,291 in November 2021. However, YTD sales increased thanks to 25,082 units sold, up from 19,804.
4,251 units were sold to other OEMs, including Toyota, down from 4,774 in 2021 and 46,708 units thus far this year.
1,39,306 units (PV+LCV+OEM) were sold domestically last month, and 11,39,072 units were sold YTD in 2022–2023. Export for November 2022 totaled 19,738 units, down from 21,393 units in November 2021, whereas for the year as a whole, they increased to 1,72,818 units from 1,47,642 units.
Overall, Maruti Suzuki sales in November 2022 were successful. In both YoY and YTD analyses, sales have increased. Sales increased from 1,39,184 automobiles sold a year ago to 1,59,044 vehicles sold overall (domestic + export) this year. The YTD numbers increased from 10,10,674 units in 2021–2022 to 13,11,890 vehicles in 2022–2023.
