Maruti Suzuki is the largest car manufacturing company in India. The current Indian car market is demanding SUVs the most, and noticing this demand Maruti is expanding its SUV portfolio. Recently, Maruti launched the Grand Vitara which is bringing many customers to the showrooms. Now Maruti has unveiled two new SUVs for the Indian car market – the much-awaited 5-Door Jimny and the new Fronx at the Auto Expo 2023. The Jimny is a popular off-roader SUV of Maruti, the 5-Door version is a more practical version of the SUV than the original 3-door version.Â
 The 5-door Jimny is based on the same platform on which the global model is built, it also shares the powertrain, transmission, and other components. The booking of the 5-door Jimny is already open and you can book it by visiting the nearest Nexa showroom for a small token amount of Rs. 11,000. The launch of the SUV is planned for later this year. The Jimny is an off-roader SUV and it targets the lifestyle SUV segment which is heavily dominated by the Mahindra Thar in India. To take advantage of the Thar, Maruti has launched the more practical 5-door version of the Jimny first instead of the 3-door global version.Â
 The 5-Door Jimny carries a 1.5-liter K15B petrol engine under the hood, which produces 103 bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 134.2Nm of torque at 4000rpm. This engine comes mated with two transmission options – a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed automatic. The Jimny also has a low Range Gear and it is equipped with the Maruti Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system.
