At one time the sedan segment was the king of Indian roads but now the SUVs and Hatchbacks have taken over and the sedan segment sales are down to smaller numbers. Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the highest-selling sedan in India followed by the Honda Amaze and Honda City. The Hyundai Verna was at one time among the top 3 sedans in India but because of the delay in the launch of the new generation, the Verna has lost its high place. Now after a long wait, Hyundai is finally going to launch the new-gen Hyundai Verna 2023 and by the looks of the new Verna, it seems that it was worth the wait. The spy shots of the new Hyundai Verna 2023 in complete camouflage were surfacing the internet in 2022 but now the full design and details of the 2023 Verna are revealed and it is going to launch in March 2023. The new-gen Verna is here and it is going to break some records for sure. Hyundai India has already started taking bookings of the new Verna and you can book it by going to the nearest Hyundai Showroom or by visiting the company’s website for a small token amount of Rs. 25,000. The new Verna design is completely new and the interior has also gone under complete upgradation. The front profile of the new Verna has slim LED DRLs with a connected LED light bar in the middle which looks quite futuristic. The headlights are mounted below on the bumper and in the middle, it has a large front grille that looks very sporty. The side profile has new alloy wheels, sharp lines of the door panels, and body-colored ORVMs and Door handles. The rear profile continues the sporty theme and has a slim long light bar and sporty rear bumper.
The interior design is completely new and because of the added wheelbase, the rear seats are now more spacious. The Feature list of the new Verna includes a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new fully digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, a powered driver seat, front ventilated seats, automatic AC, an air purifier, and level-2 advanced driver assistance system.
The new Verna will get two engine options – a new 1.5-liter direct injection turbocharged petrol unit that produces 160bhp of power and 260Nm of torque and a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 113bhp of power and 144Nm of torque. The first one will be offered with two transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. The second one will also be offered with two transmission options – a 6-speed manual and an iVT. The new 2023 Verna is on offer in 4 trims – EX, S, SX, and SX (O).
The new 2023 Verna is expected to be Rs. 1 lakh – Rs. 1.50 lakh more expensive than the current Verna. The current Verna line-up price is between Rs. 9.64 lakh – Rs. 15.72 lakh (Ex-showroom). Hyundai has confirmed the launch date of the new Verna. It will go on sale from 21st March 2023.
