Auto Expo 2023 has started and it has brought many new and updated automobiles to the country. At Auto Expo 2023, Hyundai launched its all-new electric SUV called IONIQ 5.

The company has started taking bookings of the car and you can book it for a token amount of Rs 1 lakh only. IONIQ 5 is the 2nd electric car of Hyundai in the country, the first one was the Hyundai Kona. The price of the IONIQ 5 has been kept at Rs 44.95 lakh (Ex-showroom) for the first 500 customers. After 500 booking the price could go slightly up. The assembly of IONIQ 5 will be done in India only and because of this, its price is Rs. 16 lakhs less than the Kia EV6, which assembly takes place outside the country.

IONIQ 5 Range and Battery

At the launch, the company mentioned that the IONIQ 5 can deliver an ARAI-certified driving range of 631 km on a single full charge. The Hyundai launch team also said that the IONIQ 5 carries a battery pack of 72.6kWh which powers an electric motor that produces 217hp of power and 350 Nm of torque. This battery can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes using a 350kW DC charger. The IONIQ 5 will only come in rear-wheel-drive configuration and it can do 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.6 seconds.

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 has many modern features including two 12.3-inch screens one for the instrument cluster and the second one for the touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, ADAS level 2 bundle, powered front seats, six airbags for safety, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) function. The IONIQ 5 will ride on 20-inch aero-optimized wheels and it will be available in three body colors – Gravity Gold Matte, Optic White, and Midnight Black Pearl.
