Honda, a well-known and old Japanese car manufacturing company, was at one time among the top automobile companies in India but now the good old days of Honda in India are gone and the situation is so critical that the company was about to wind up and leave the country. Honda did introduce some good cars in India but the Indian car market demand didn’t match the Honda offerings and the result was very low sales for the company. Currently, Honda India offers only 4 cars – City lineup, Amaze, WR-V, and Jazz. This small portfolio of Honda India will become smaller in April 2023 because Honda will discontinue WR-V and Jazz as a result of new emission norms. We will discuss Honda’s next step in India in the upcoming articles because today we are going to talk about the BRV (Honda 7-seater SUV). The BR-V was first launched on 5 May 2016 in India. But because of low sales and BS6 emission laws, it was discontinued in 2020.
The BRV was a great car from Honda and its owners still love its comfort and performance. The BRV was based on the same platform as the Brio, Amaze, and Mobilio. The design of the BRV is not like any other car, its front profile has one thick (which holds the logo) and one slim chrome line on the grille, a sporty bumper that houses the fog lamps, sharp lines on the bonnet, and beautiful headlights with integrated DRLs. The slide profile has chrome door handles, sporty lines, and alloy wheels. The rear is almost flat and has c shaped tail lights which are connected by a light bar, the rear bumper is simple but the overall rear profile has many sporty cuts and the roof rails add more stars to its design.
Honda BRV’s interior design is good considering its price range. It has a soft top dashboard and the lower part’s plastic quality is also nice. The central console buttons, infotainment, and fit and finish of the car are good. The best part of the BRV is its performance, it carries a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood that produces 123 HP of power and 106 PF of torque. This engine is really smooth and gives a quick response.
The BRV has features like rear AC vents, ABS brakes, traction control, dual front airbags, power windows and locks, an infotainment touch screen, 4 speakers, a 12V power socket, and recleaning 3rd row. The Honda BRV mileage depends on the model you choose, according to Honda, the mileage of the diesel manual is 21.9kmpl.
The BRV price starts at Rs. 9.65 lakh (Ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs. 13.95 lakh (Ex-showroom). The Honda BRV on-road price starts at Rs. 10.70 lakh and goes up to Rs. 15.10 lakh. You can not buy a new Honda BRV now because it was discontinued back in 2020.
