Citroen is a French car-manufacturing company that entered the Indian car market in 2021. Citroen currently offers two cars in India and the company is planning to expand its portfolio in India by launching a new 7-seater SUV. According to the latest report the upcoming 7-seater SUV from Citroen will be made for markets like Brazil and India.
The spy shots of the SUV revealed some design elements. The codename of the SUV is said to be CC24 and it will be based on the Citroen C3 hatchback. The name of the SUV is not confirmed but some reports suggest that it could be Citroen C3 Aircross.
The design of the upcoming Citroen 7-seater SUV will be mostly the same as the other cars of the company but the grille and the bumper of the SUV could be slightly updated. The fog lamp assembly could also be placed a little lower than the C3 hatchback. Talking about the wheels, the top model of the SUV could ride on 17-inch alloy wheels while the base model could be offered with 16-inch wheels. The length of the SUV will be longer than the C3 hatchback but the ground clearance could be the same.
The interior of the Citroen C3 Aircross could be a lot similar to the Citroen C3 but with a new 3rd row of seats. Talking about the features of the upcoming Citroen Aircross, it could have a 10-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, digital instrument cluster, flat bottom steering with mounted cluster, four speakers, tilt adjustable steering, speed sensitive auto door lock, and door edge warning. Roof rails could also be a part of Citroen’s upcoming 7-seater SUV.
Citroen C3 Aircross could carry a 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol or a 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine unit under the hood, same as the Citroen C3 hatchback. The turbo petrol engine generates 110bhp of power and 190 Nm of torque and the naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 82bhp of power and 115 Nm of torque. The launch of the Citroen C3 Aircross is expected in India in the middle of 2023.
Citroen C3 Aircross will compete with the Renault Triber which is a 7-seater SUV in India. Renault Triber has a 1-liter, naturally aspirated, three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 72PS of power and 96 Nm of torque. Triber comes with two transmission options – a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic transmission.
