About the Apple self-driving car, a significant update has occurred. 2026 has been chosen as the new target year for the fully automated apple car project, which will not have a steering wheel and pedals. The self-driving project of the tech company Apple is known as Titan.
It has been acknowledged by Project Titan’s organizers, that Apple’s self-driving car cannot now be prepared without a steering wheel or pedals right now due to technical limitations.
A self-driving car with a steering wheel and pedals was successfully designed by Apple but the car can only drive autonomously on national highways. Thus, Apple’s project to develop self-driving cars will take some time.
The Apple Car Project team has been disbanded for the time being, according to a tweet last week from famous technical analyst Ming-Chi Kou and Apple Insiders. Within the next three to six months, a second effort will be required to meet the large-scale production target by 2025.
Doug Field, a crucial member of the team and former Apple VP of specialty products who also held positions at Tesla and Segway, just left Project Titan. Last year Ford declared that Doug Field will take on the role of its Embedded Systems Officer.
Luigi Taraborelli, a former executive at Lamborghini, was hired by Apple in July to work on Project Titan. Taraborelli was once the head of chassis and vehicle dynamics at Lamborghini. The Benzinga report states that Taraborelli’s primary responsibilities for the special duty include, but are not limited to, software coding, virtual simulation, and chassis idea creation.
