Honda currently offers only one SUV in India, Less SUV options in the Honda showroom are affecting the company’s growth in the Indian car market as the new trend in India is SUV cars. The sub-compact SUV WR-V from Honda is not able to compete against popular SUVs like Venue, Brezza, and Sonet due to which the company’s car sale bars are going down. However, today we will talk about a new upcoming sub-compact SUV from Honda which could be the WR-V in a new avatar.

Honda has recently teased a new SUV on billboards across Indonesia, revealing that the company is ready to launch a new sub-compact SUV soon in the South East Asian market so it could soon be introduced in India too. The billboard shows a new-looking SUV with the tagline “WHEELING SOON” which means it will launch soon. This new car from Japanese carmaker company Honda is assumed as the Honda SUV RS concept that was recently shown in an auto show.

While some say that the new SUV could be the new generation of the WR-V with new updates on the inside and out but the official name of the model is currently unknown. The looks of the car in the billboard image are different than the WR-V and the RS concept shown before. The company hints at the name of the SUV on the official website with the headline “WELCOME THE NEW RS” However, the model’s full name is yet to be uncovered.

Design of the new sub-compact SUV

• The car image on the billboard gave us a hint of the design of some parts of the SUV.
• The image shows that the SUV will carry a slight upgrader LED headlights unit which somewhat appears similar to the HR-V.
• The grill of the SUV will carry an RS badge with a new look and the bumpers will be thick, carrying the LED fog lamps, on top of the Honda’s new SUV, roof rails will be given to enhance its bulky look.
• The side mirrors will also be the housing of the turn indicators.
• The billboard image reveals some back profile of the SUV too which shows vertical taillights, shark fin antenna, and new cut tailgate.
• The interior design and features list is still hidden but Honda has officially said that the new SUV will come with Honda Sensing features.
• Honda will launch this new sub-compact SUV in Indonesia and other South East Asian markets and if it launches in India it will compete against the Brezza, Venue, and Sonet.
• The price of this SUV is expected to be around 8-10L (Ex-showroom)
