Force motors are ready to launch the force Gurkha 5-door version in India. The showroom staff training is already under process before the official launch.
The Force Gurkha a 3 Door off-road SUV is in a segment, which has been ruled by Mahindra Thar for many years now, not many companies are focused on this segment so the offers are limited but the competition against Mahindra Thar is tough and the never-ending waiting period of Thar is the proof of that. With the new 5-door version of the Gurkha, the force motors will compete against the upcoming 5-door versions of Mahindra Thar and Maruti Jimny. Although the all-ready running 3-door variant of the Gurkha is not doing good on the sales charts, the company has hope that the 5 Door version will provide some height to the sale bars and will attract more customers in the force showrooms.
The current on-sale 3-door version of the Gurkha has 4×4 capabilities, under the hood it holds a single diesel engine option and a 5 Speed manual transmission as standard but it lacks some features which are available in the competition such as a detachable roof-top or sunroof.
Force 5 Door Gurkha Details.
The new 5-door Gurkha will have a longer wheelbase than the 3 Door version to slide in a new 3rd row and the SUV could be available with the option of 3 different seating configurations. The first one will be a 6-seater option with 2 caption seats on both the 2nd and 3rd row. The second option will be a 7-seater which will have 2 caption seats in the middle and a bench in the 3rd row and the last option will be a configuration of 9 people sitting with a bench in the 2nd row and two side-facing seats in the back just like the Mahindra Bolero Neo plus.
The 5-door Gurkha will be powered by a 2.6L turbo diesel engine. It will have 4×4 capabilities and mechanically lockable front and rear differential. 2 options of wheels will be offered in the 5-door Gurkha, 18inch alloys, and the other one is a simple smaller size steel rim which will be part of the lower-end variant. The interior is expected to have a new infotainment system with android auto, apple car play, and power windows. The looks of the 5-door Gurkha are almost the same as the 3-door variant, which can be seen in the spy shot pictures.
Knowing that the staff training is already under process it is fair enough to say that the launch of 5-door Gurkha is just around the corner and it will be launched in the upcoming months to compete against the soon upcoming 5-door Jimny and 5-door Thar.
The price of the Force 5 Door Gurkha is expected to start a few lakhs above the 3 Door variant which is 13-14 lakh (Ex-showroom).
