Tata has recently launched the Altroz CNG variant and it comes with some truly distinguishing elements and is being offered in six variants: XE, XM+, XM+ (S), XZ, XZ+ (S), and XZ+ O (S). If you were planning to buy a new CNG hatchback then you are at the right place because today we are going to do a detailed comparison of the 3 premium hatchbacks – Tata Altroz CNG, Maruti Baleno CNG, and Toyota Glanza. Make sure to read the full article so that you pick the right option for you.

BalenoBaleno & Glanza Vs Tata Altroz – Dimensions Comparison

Altroz: length – 3,990mm, width – 1,755mm, height – 1,523, wheelbase – 2,501, boot space – 210 liters   Baleno & Glanza: length – 3,990mm, width – 1,745mm, height – 1,500, wheelbase – 2,520, boot space – NA   The Baleno and Glanza share the same dimensions since they are cross-badged models. Although the Baleno-Glanza pair have a 15mm larger wheelbase, the Altroz CNG is the broader and taller of the trio. Nevertheless, the length of each of the three hatchbacks is the same.

BalenoCNG Technology

The Tata Altroz gets a dual-tank configuration that sets it apart from all other CNG options since it makes room for a useful boot. Even though we don’t know how much luggage the CNG versions of the Baleno and Glanza can hold, it’s clear that their boots’ utility is lesser than the Tata Altroz CNG.

BalenoBaleno & Glanza Vs Altroz – Engine Comparison

Altroz – 1.2-liter petro+CNG that produces 73.5PS of power and 103Nm of torque.   Baleno & Glanza – 1.2-liter petro+CNG that produces 77PS of power and 98.5Nm of torque.   A 1.2-liter petrol+CNG engine of almost the same capability is offered in all three CNG hatchbacks. The Altroz CNG makes 4.5Nm torque more than the competitors while the Baleno and Glanza beats the Altroz by 4PS in terms of power output. All three of these hatchbacks are only available with a manual gearbox. The Maruti and Toyota hatchbacks claim that their CNG versions deliver over 30 km/kg, whereas Tata has not yet provided any details of the Altroz CNG mileage.

BalenoFeatures

Tata Altroz’s most noticeable feature that separates it from its competitors is that the Tata Altroz CNG can be started directly in CNG mode without the need for petrol.   All three CNG hatchbacks meet feature standards with premium features like a reversing camera, auto air conditioning with rear AC vents, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. While the Maruti-Toyota pair both have six front airbags, the Altroz only has two, but it still is the safer option because it has a five-star safety rating from the earlier GNCAP testing. In addition, the Tata hatchback has several special amenities that set it apart from the other two, including a sunroof, ambient lighting, a cooled glovebox, leatherette upholstery, and TPMS.    The wireless smartphone connectivity, TFT multi-information display, and LED headlights, on the other hand, are features that set the Baleno CNG (and Glanza CNG) apart from Tata Altroz. Keyless entry, ISOFIX child seat anchors, push-button start/stop, and 16-inch alloy wheels are all standard on all three vehicles.

BalenoPrice

Tata Altroz CNG – Rs 7.55 lakh to Rs 10.55 lakh

Maruti Baleno CNG – Rs 8.35 lakh to Rs 9.28 lakh

Toyota Glanza CNG – Rs 8.50 lakh to Rs 9.53 lakh

When it comes to having the most variety of CNG variations, providing it with a larger pricing range, the Altroz certainly dominates the field.

Our Opinion

It’s difficult to say which car is best for you because it depends on your specific needs and requirements. If you are someone who needs a feature-rich CNG hatchback then the Tata Altroz is the right option for you but if you are someone who is looking for a low-maintenance, cost-effective, and stylish CNG hatchback then the Baleno & Glanza are the right option for you.
