Maruti Swift’s rival the “Hyundai Grand i10 Nios facelift” was spied on Indian roads. Some cosmetic changes are expected, but hardware is likely to be unchanged.
A testing unit of the Grand i10 Nios facelift was spied near Hyundai’s plant in Chennai in India. Earlier the same-looking testing unit was spotted in South Korea, Grand i10 Nios is finally going to get a facelift after around 3 years of its launch in India.
Grand i10 Nios is a very well-equipped car in its price segment and its facelift version will launch in 2023. Some rivals of the i20 Nios are Tata Tigor, Tata Punch, and Renault Triber and the main rival is Maruti Swift. The new-gen Maruti Swift will also launch in 2023.
The Spy shots of Grand i10 Nios were taken by Raja. Not only did he capture the Indian version of the 2023 i10 Nios, but he also got his eyes on the left-hand drive South Korean version of the car.

The main changes we will see in the 2023 Grand i10 Nios are new LED DRLs that will have a quad design and a new front grill. The current i10 Nios model LED DRLs are arrow-shaped and it appears that the fog lamps design of the 2023 i10 Nios is the same as the current model.
The doors and other side panels of the car almost look the same as the old model, except for the alloy wheels. The 2023 i10 Nios gets a new set of alloy wheels that gives it a sportier look. The back profile of the 2023 i10 Nios will carry new design tail lights.
There is a possibility that the new Grand i10 Nios will be offered in a new color option i.e. sky blue. Cause a sky blue colored i10 testing unit was spotted in Germany.
Currently, the i10 Nios gets 2 unique color options – Fiery Red and Aqua Teal. Sky blue will be the 3rd unique color i10 will have if it launches in India and off-course there is the option of usual colors like white, silver, and grey.
The 2023 Grand i10 Nios features list is longer than the current model. The new facelift version could have features like a new instrument console, a larger touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a new dashboard design, and refreshed interior with new upholstery.
The engine of the new i10 Nios will not get major changes, some minor changes could be done to meet the new engine norms. The Grand i10 Nios will continue to have a 1.2-liter petrol engine which generates 83 PS of power and 113.8 Nm of torque.
For performance lovers, a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine is also available that produces 100 PS of power and 172 Nm of torque. This engine only gets a 5-speed manual transmission while the 1.2-liter petrol engine gets an option of a smart auto AMT as well.
For most mileage, i10 CNG is recommended which generates 69 PS of power and 95.2 Nm of torque. The CNG version only gets a 5-speed manual transmission.
