Following are the specifics on the upcoming launch of new SUVs under Rs.10 lakh in India from manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Citroen, Honda, and Toyota.
Just as it was before the start of the festive season, the automotive market will be very active in the upcoming months. We have listed the potential seven upcoming SUVs that will be priced under Rs. 10 lakh below. Carmakers will investigate strategies to enter the competitive segment area with a blitz of new launches in the first half of the following calendar year.
1. Maruti Suzuki YTB:
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross, codenamed YTB, will share several features with the Baleno because it is built on the same Heartect platform. With a larger boot and a roofline resembling that of a coupe, the YTB or Baleno Cross will be powered by a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. Before going on sale, it is most likely to have its world debut at the 2023 Auto Expo.
2. Hyundai Micro SUV:
A mini SUV from Hyundai is expected to be unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo in January. It may be shown in a state that is close to manufacturing before going on sale later that year. It will probably face competition from brands like Tata Punch.
3. Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus:
At launch in the upcoming weeks, the Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus is expected to cost between Rs. 9.9 lakh and Rs. 12.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It could be offered with seven or nine seats, and its 2.2-liter, four-cylinder mHawk diesel engine is most likely what gives it power.
4. Honda Compact SUV:
By the middle of next year, the Amaze-based compact SUV is expected to go on sale and compete with vehicles like the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and others. It might utilize Amaze-like powertrain options. The five-seater could adhere to the contemporary design aesthetic that the brand has adopted globally.
5. Toyota SUV Coupe:
As part of Toyota’s partnership with Maruti Suzuki, the rebadged SUV coupe based on the YTB platform may also go on sale in the first half of next year. It will be placed beneath the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and might be powered by the same 1.0-liter three-pot BoosterJet petrol engine seen in the YTB.
6. Citroen C3 with 7 seats:
A more practical seven-seater variant of the Citroen C3, which has already been observed testing on public roads, is anticipated to enter production sometime next year, making it the French automaker’s most cheap option right now.
7. New-Gen Toyota Urban Cruiser:
The Toyota Urban Cruiser has not yet been updated, whereas the new generation Maruti Suzuki Brezza was introduced in India around the end of June 2022. Before the year’s end, the compact SUV is expected to receive a significant cosmetic and interior makeover in India.
