Honda India has launched its new SUV the Elevate in India which could be the last car of the company in the country if it fails. The starting price of Honda Elevate is Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom) and its rivals are the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Citroen C3 Aircross, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Aston. Today, in this article, we will tell you the top 10 popular car features in India that the Honda Elevate doesn’t have.
Honda Elevate – Panoramic Sunroof
The Honda Elevate only has a single-pane sunroof while some of its rivals feature panoramic sunroofs like the Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Hyundai Creta, and MG Astor. Nowadays, compact or larger SUVs are frequently equipped with this function, which enhances the interior environment. It was undoubtedly a feature that many people expected in the Honda new SUV.
360-degree camera
Honda Elevate gets a rearview camera as well as its ‘Lanewatch’ camera function but does not get a 360-degree vision configuration which is a deal breaker for many people. With the addition of a 360-degree camera, parking or even getting out of tight spots becomes easier. This useful function is available in rivals like the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, and MG Astor.
Fully Digital Instrument Cluster Display
The Honda Elevate gets a semi-digital cluster unit with a 7-inch TFT. While this screen is one of the nicer ones available and is also available in the City sedan, it still seems old now. A completely digital driver’s display would have been a better option for the Elevate’s cabin. A digital driver’s display is available on rivals like Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
Honda Elevate – Branded Audio System
The Honda Elevate lacks a branded audio system, which is an in-demand feature in the market. It might have at the very least been given as a high-end option, as seen in other models. The rivals like Creta and Seltos have a Bose sound system, while the Grand Vitara and Hyryder have a Clarion system.
Powered Driver’s Seat
The motorized driver’s seat is another convenience element that Honda might have not included in the Elevate. The Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and MG Astor, which are among the most feature-rich products in the sector, all come with an electrically adjustable driver’s seat.
Ventilated Front Seats
Ventilated front seats are a very handy option for Indian weather conditions. Except for the Astor and C3 Aircross, every other small SUV has this function but the Honda Elevate misses out on this. Furthermore, it is currently also available as an option in certain lower-priced vehicles.
Type C USB Ports
Honda retains standard connectors on the front instead of a type-C port. It’s difficult to understand why, as a luxury contemporary SUV, the Elevate only supports previous-generation technology.
It has two conventional USB ports on the front, as well as a 12V plug, which is the only method to charge a current device via an accessory. Surprisingly, there is only a 12V socket and no USB charging connector in the rear.
Rear Sun-blinds
A rear window sunblind is another India-friendly feature that the Hyundai Elevate lacks. While not widely used in this market, its rivals the Creta and Seltos both offer them in higher-end varieties. Honda could have offered this feature to obtain a competitive advantage.
No Turbo Petrol Engine
The Elevate is powered by the Honda City’s 1.5-liter naturally aspirated i-VTEC engine, which produces up to 121PS. While it is more powerful than equivalent engine options in the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder, all other category competitors feature a turbocharged petrol engine. This engine option is intended to give consumers a more exciting driving experience than the naturally aspirated unit.
No Hybrid Powertrain
A strong-hybrid technology is available for the Honda City, with promises of up to 27.13 kmpl in fuel efficiency. The Honda Elevate does not have a hybrid option, despite utilizing the city’s platform and its i-VTEC engine. The other two rival SUVs that have this very fuel-efficient feature are the Grand Vitara and Hyryder. Honda has announced that an electric vehicle (EV) version of the Elevate will be launched and start on sale in 2026.
